Few specimens capture the imagination quite like a pallasite. Because this slice comes from the legendary Brenham meteorite, it offers collectors a rare glimpse into the molten core-mantle boundary formed ~4.5 billion years ago. As light passes through the piece, translucent olivine crystals ignite in warm amber and gold tones. Meanwhile, the surrounding metal takes on a mirror-like polish, framing each crystal.
The Brenham pallasite fell to Earth in prehistoric times and was later discovered scattered across a strewnfield near Brenham, Kansas, in Kiowa County. As a result, it remains one of the most celebrated pallasite falls in meteorite history. Because pallasites form at the boundary between a planetary core and mantle, each slice preserves a moment from billions of years ago.
This slice is presented on a custom LED stand with a polished chrome base, so the specimen can be illuminated from behind at any time. The crystals glow continuously, transforming the piece into a genuine conversation piece. Because the design highlights every facet and vein, it suits a home office, gallery shelf, or collector’s cabinet equally well.
