Hand-carved in India out of one piece of genuine ruby, this is an impressively detailed depiction of the Hindu god Ganesh. This elephant-headed "Lord of the Ganas" (Shiva's attendants) is believed to remove obstacles and is traditionally addressed before any other deity. He is associated with beginnings. The cube in the picture is approximately one centimeter.
