Potamon Crab in Travertine // 2.77 Lb.
This incredibly well preserved 3D Potamon freshwater crab fossil from the Denizli Basin in Turkey is encased in white travertine, a variety of limestone often used for construction. These crabs can be discovered when the limestone is quarried. The travertine deposits date back to the Pleistocene era some 400,000 years ago.
