This meteorite was acquired from the Bethany Sciences collection and comes in a display box with an informational Certificate of Authenticity.
This unique fall may be a first of its kind, with at least two meteorite types discovered among recovered specimens: chondritic pieces and stony-iron like masses similar to pallasites. The Portales fall was an observed fall and appeared as an explosion around 7:30am on Sunday June 13, 1998 over Portales, New Mexico.
