Peridot // 11.47 Carats

This cut cornered triangular step cut peridot from Pakistan displays an olive green hue and good clarity with a chromite inclusion. The very large crystal of chromite is eye-visible and a fascinating contrast to the translucency of the peridot. This double refractive yellow-green stone is the gem variety of the mineral olivine. Samples of olivine have been found in pallasite meteorites dating as far back as 4.5 billion years – nearly to the birth of our solar system.
