Crowned the world’s rarest gemstone by the Guinness Book of World Records, painite was discovered in Burma where this huge 1-3/4″L x 1-1/8″W 1″H crystal on ruby-included matrix was sourced. Rubies are often found in association with painites from this location. First unearthed in Myanmar in 1951 by gemologist Arthur C.D. Pain, there were initially only two known specimens of this red to reddish-brown hexagonal gem mineral in existence, with only one more found within the first few decades after its discovery. With gorgeous composition and luster, this specimen is the kind of history-rich marvel no knowledgable collector can pass up. Painites are still few and far between and with a beautiful termination and deep color, this genuine article will take your collection to the next level and beyond.

Dimensions: 1-3/4″L x 2″W x 2″H, Weight: 142 g
