Grandidierite // 152 Grams
This magnesium aluminum oxide-borosilicate was discovered in 1902 in southern Madagascar and named for French explorer Alfred Grandidier. One of the rarest gemstones on the planet, gem quality grandidierite displays pleochroism – meaning it appears to change color when viewed from different angles. This coveted stone often forms inside pegmatites. This is a beautiful crystallized greenish-blue cluster from Madagascar. It is the largest, highest quality specimen currently on the market and will make an excellent addition to any well-curated collection.
Dimensions: 3-1/4”L x 1-7/8”W x 2-3/4”H, Weight: 152 g
