Ammonites and belemnites are extinct species of Orthoceras, an ancient relative to the modern-day cephalopod – otherwise known as squids or nautilus. Orthoceras fossilize over a limestone bed and have an estimated age of about 370 million years, hailing from the Devonian period. This ancient specimen turned modern
