Ammonite and Belemnite Mining Lantern
This beautiful, unique, and handy ammonite and belemnite mining lantern boasts ammonite and belemnite fossils in shale from the Atlas Mountains in South Morocco. Ammonites and belemnites are extinct species of orthoceras, an ancient relative to the modern-day cephalopod -- otherwise known as squids or nautilus. They fossilize over a limestone bed and have an estimated age of about 40 million years, hailing from the Devonian period. The lamp portion of this device is made from genuine selenite and hollowed out to fit an LED candle, and there is a handle for easy carrying.
