This meteorite was acquired from the Bethany Sciences collection and comes in a display box with a Certificate of Authenticity.
This veined ordinary chondrite fell in a shower on February 3, 1882 near the village of Mocs – now called Mociu, once considered a part of Hungary and now in Romania. The Meteorological Bulletin Database classifies the Mocs meteorite as an L5-6 chondrite, of which there is only one other witnessed fall: the Romanian Pleşcoi.
